Open Source Business
Today I came across an article that my Google/Yahoo News filters delivered to my inbox, about how the online installment loans direct lenders for Open-Source becoming more than just a method of software development. I’m publishing this article from the Economist in it’s entirety because I’m a proponent of open-source and have for several years fostered a desire to develop an open source gambling portal, where the members would be the stake-holders and governors of the proceeds of managing a profitable “Players Club” with an extensive search engine, directory, forums and chat rooms.
OPEN, BUT NOT AS USUAL
As “open-source” models move beyond software into other businesses, their limitations are becoming apparent.Unlike bankruptcy orders or IVAs, debt management plans do not count as insolvency, so you won’t write off any of your debt, rather you will repay it at a manageable rate.

Worrier or Warrior?
“Once a man worries, he clings to anything out of desperation; and once he clings he is bound to get exhausted or to exhaust whomever or whatever he is clinging to. A warrior-hunter, on the other hand, knows he will lure game into his traps over and over again, so he doesn’t worry.” ~ Carlos Castaneda, 20th century mystic and Toltec warrior

Sao Paulo summer
Carnival has ended and the city is back to full pace. The weather is hot and humid, just how I like it. My wife Paula and I spend as much time as possible at the Club, get up earlier in the morning when the temperature is very agreeable, to get some programming work done. After a few hours of fixing all the broken pages and programs on the new Silicon Palms web-server, we head to the pool at the club and soak up some sun, swim a few laps, enjoy a cold beverage, then drive back home for an afternoon siesta. Most often we run together in the early evening, after which I’ll spend another half dozen hours (or so) back in front of my computer.

Miami Beach
My partner has a condo in an old luxury apartment builiding on Miami Beach, and I’m lucky enough to get to use it from time to time. Tomorrow night I depart Sao Paulo, Brasil on a red-eye bound for Miami. If my luck holds-up, I’ll arrive and clear customs before 6:00am, hit a cash machine and jump a cab to take me to my pad, change to swim gear and be in the ocean watching the sun come up.
The apartment has a wireless network, so as soon as I plug my laptop in, I’m back riding the light. Nicely decorated, large single bedroom, with hard wood floors and cool art work, furnished in a Havana motif. Second floor looking out towards the Intra-Coastal where the big yachts cruise past. It’s a couple of minute walk out the door and down the stairs to a nicely kept, large swimming pool and walk out the path to the best part of Miami Beach. -
Shelley Anne Day
It’s my sister’s birthday today and I tried calling her but she was out-to-lunch (no pun intended). I’m blessed with a great family and love both my sisters, as they’re so magnanimous, clever, and enthusiastic. Shelley is particularity feisty, almost to the point of being stubborn, but has great sensibilities and incredible values.

Network Marketing Gambling
In all my years of being involved in sales and marketing, I’ve never witnessed a more dynamic combination than what we’re experiencing with the growth on 888.biz MLM program. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since the official launch and we’ve set records for growth and most likely for volume of sales, as there was $300k of new player deposits in the first 4 days alone.
The company computer sweeps the system and provides detailed reports on the 10th, the 20th, and the 25th of each month, plus performs the overall reconciliation on the 1st day of each month, but because of the processing of player deposit we depend on the 3 reports throughout the month to evaluate total group activity. -

Dogs of Sao Paulo
We’ve befriended a nice neighborhood dog named Bobby, he’s similar looking to a Golden retriever but a little less gold, little smaller and thiner. Very gentle dog that lives freely in the area and travels a circuit to visit his many friends and eat some handouts. Bobby, or Roberto as we sometimes call him, comes to the gates of our villa and waits until someone sees him, then barks and wags his tail with great enthusiasm. Fortunately for Bobby he’s befriended a house of dog lovers, as we have 3 small husky pomeranian mix dogs and because we always save him some scraps, which he’s come to enjoy each day like clockwork.

Point of Life
For several years I’ve been subscribed to a Newsletter by a man from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, named Michael Levy. I really can’t even remember how I came about to be registered, because it’s been so long. Perhaps through “Science of Mind” as I attended the services regularly for many years when I lived in South Florida, and met lots of interesting people.
At any rate the description of the newsletter called “Point of Life Global Spirit” is as follows – Always:- Thought Provoking – Stimulating – Energizing – Refreshing – Inspirit. It arrives in my in-box about once per month and I always seem to enjoy it, and most often get some benefit from it. Today I received a new issue, which is why I was thinking about it tonight, and recalled that it provided me some amusement.
