Recommending gringoes.com, Brazil’s first portal for the foreign community. Traveling to, or living in, a new country can often be a harrowing experience so what you’ll need most is information, and lots of it. For many, this lack of information can result in an unpleasant move, culture shock and even psychological and physical discomfort. Things like, finding a place to live, putting your children in a good school, public transport, buying a car, opening a bank account etc. are all essential to making a smooth transition to your new environment.

Living in Brasil
I’m lucky in that I love my work, it’s my passion but the truth is that I work lot’s of hours, mostly because I spend so much time working on my own projects I.E. www.winningstreak.com www.commoditytrader.com www.securitytraders.com www.investoffshore.com (and others).
My belief is that Domains are “Virtual Properties or Cyber Estates” and as such, have value when developed into useful, busy, websites. Therefore, my objective is to always be attempting to improve my dozen or so websites, which improves my long term prospects. My objective is to sell the advertising space on the sites, and or lease out the sites to companies needing to create a “virtual” presence in their industry or wanting better “brand” name. -
Blown away by Wilma
Having lived in South Florida for 12 years, and endured several bad Hurricane season’s and survived a couple near direct hit’s, including the infamous “Andrew” (I was 50 miles from ground zero, in a very safe cinder-block house, several miles from the beach), I know the helpless feeling for residents of the areas in the strike zone. My heart goes out to anyone in the proximity of this freak of nature, mother of all storms. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hurricane Wilma exploded this morning into the most intense hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic basin, a Category 5 monster with 175 mph winds. It adopted a curving path likely to carry it to South Florida this weekend — as a major hurricane. – Miami Herald

Brazilian Pilsner
After a long week of hacking on the web and working on my projects, I reach for a large, cold bottle of Bohemia Weiss (wheat) Beer, then pour the entire 550ml into 1 specially designed glass, which I keep in my freezer for just such occasions. There are other great brews, here in Brasil, which may come as a surprise, but the country is so huge that somewhere the conditions are just perfect for growing the necessary ingredients.
Brazil is home to a large German population, so perhaps an expert Brewmeister taught them how to make such outstanding beer, I’m not sure. All I know is that I’ve tried beer from all over the world, and this drop rates amongst the best. For more information about Bohemia click here. -
OffshoreNet goes to ASROC
My next tour of duty, aside from a jaunt back to my great digs on the sand of Miami Beach, is planned as a week in San Jose, Costa Rica, for the first of December, to attend back-to-back conferences, the first of which is associated to the Winning Streak Business Plan of developing a “Player Reward Club” connected to a new Debit Card designed specifically for Americans to Gamble On-line. I’ve posted this information on OffshoreNet because much of the on-line gaming industry is based “offshore”, and this site in particular, contains information related to this burgeoning industry.
The ASROC conference is designed to discuss Alternative Payment Processing Systems for internet businesses. The importance of this event could not be more emphasized today than ever before. In the wake of a new demand for debit cards, ATM cards and other forms of online payment systems, the ASROC conference establishes a forum to meet current industry needs for finding and integrating reliable online e-commerce systems as alternatives to existing forms of payment processing.
