Having lived in South Florida for 12 years and only visited Myrtle Beach a couple of times, mostly just a drive-by kind of thing, I was under the impression that the people and the place would be more like Ft. Lauderdale, which can be described as a sunny place filled with shady people, but alas I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the two beach towns have very few similarities.

Click on the photo for a larger picture.

Being a Canadian that adores America, I've seen more of the USA than most of it's citizen's, always being attracted to the warmer climes and all the places where you can find boats and beaches. Myrtle Beach doesn't disappoint, with a massive beach that faces the open Atlantic and features the warm current from the Caribbean, drawn north by the Gulf Stream. By August it's normal to find water temperatures in the 80's but even in May it's very pleasant to swim in water that's 74 degrees and the beach very busy with tourists and locals.

The population of the area is about 299,000, in the area of the "Grand Strand" as it's known, which encompasses at least a dozen smaller communities that stretch along the beach, between the Atlantic Intracoastal and the Atlantic Ocean. On a few occasions I was able to borrow a nice ski-boat and tour the waterway all the way to the inlet and was very impressed with what I saw and learned about the region. Only a small percentage of the waterway is developed, so much of what can be seen is the natural South Carolina landscape, although there are sections of residential development with multi-million dollar homes built along the edge of the waterway.

Locals boast that Myrtle Beach is the Golf Capital of the world, with more courses that anywhere on earth, attracting more visitors to South Carolina than anything else, plus creating fabulous golf resort/residential developments, like the Grande Dunes. I often stayed at an award winning luxury hotel called the Marina Inn, which is located along the shore of the Atlantic Intracoastal waterway and features a large marina, several excellent cafes, bars and restaurants, awesome pools, tennis courts and naturally, golf courses, plus access (by shuttle) to an incredible beach club, directly on the Atlantic Ocean. The entire area surrounding Myrtle Beach is remarkably clean, well organized, modern and sophisticated and with dozens and dozens of excellent places to eat and party.

Ultimately it's the people of the Carolina's that make it so special for me but it was the partying aspect of the Redneck Riviera that surprised me the most. I was lucky to get in with a good bunch of folks that befriended me and opened many doors that normally an outsider would not even know existed. In all my years of travel and the dozen years of living in South Florida, I never before had the good fortune to make friends with individuals, whom I believe, will be my good friends for life. I love Myrtle Beach.

We stayed in a nice hotel on the end of Copacabana, every day we explored new beaches and every night we discovered new restaurants. This was my third trip to Rio so I'm starting to get to know the lay of the land now, which is very challenging because of the position of the mountains that rise directly out of the Atlantic like giant pointed knobs, often rock faced on the steep sides or otherwise covered in jungle-like vegetation. The beaches are broad and curved with a cool Atlantic swell pounding in to relieve the masses of sun worshipers who flock here to enjoy the summer heat from all parts of the globe.

To be continued...

"The most successful men in the end are those whose success is the result of steady accretion... It is the man who carefully advances step by step, with his mind becoming wider and wider - and progressively better able to grasp any theme or situation - persevering in what he knows to be practical, and concentrating his thought upon it, who is bound to succeed in the greatest degree."

        I hand-coded and published my first HTML web page in 1993, ever since then my thinking about what I should be doing with my web-publishing passion, has vacillated between projects for helping disadvantage children in third-world countries, or providing information and services to help wealthy North Americans invest offshore.

Living in South Florida at that time, every day we watched images, or in one case I eye-witnessed, Haitian families coming ashore in home-made rafts because they were so desperate to escape the poverty of their Island Nation. It prompted me to start-up "PC on Earth" a non-profit organization that would find ways to get information technology to schools in the Caribbean.
        It felt noble to be working on a worthy cause that had a chance to make a positive difference, even if for nothing more than to keep a young person occupied on their Island instead of embarking upon a crazy dangerous journey aboard bit's of wood lashed to patched and inflated inner-tubes. Meanwhile, the education of business start-up had begun and looking back I can tell you that the same issues arise as those of a capitalistic venture; cash-flow. Added to the hurdles of the non-profit are all sorts of unforeseen problems to do with egos and agendas of other people and groups, some of whom, like church groups for example, wield much more power and influence than a start-up. However, the entire process was very enlightening but in the end a person of reason would realize that more good can be done, if you're serious about doing good, by a wealthy philanthropist than by someone who starts-up yet another non-profit.

So the Robin Hood plan was concocted early on in my career, except I wouldn't steal from the rich to give to the poor. I would sell information to the rich and provide education to the poor. OffshoreNet was incorporated in 1995 and I began publishing web pages about offshore banking and investing offshore, it wasn't too long after that when I was first introduced to on-line gambling. Casino is the ideal marriage of entertainment and excitement for the Internet, I knew it from the start. The idea of placing sports bets on-line also seemed very natural but the concept of playing poker on-line was something I just thought would happen inside the Casinos. I never predicted that Poker would become so huge and that it would just continue growing and growing.

Now all these years later I'm about to embark upon the most important project of my career because it holds the promise to provide me with the resources necessary to be able to fulfill some of my altruistic dreams, to be able to open a Silicon Palms office and recruiting center here in Brazil, for the purpose of finding and teaching young people, who have a desire, and show a passion for learning, how to become a web developer.

In my own journey, I've learned allot about offshore banking and how to invest offshore by both providing the information and by becoming a student of what I was publishing. As for Poker? Ironically, when I was 19 years old and living a winter in Grand Prairie, Alberta, working 12 - 16 hours per day, 7 days a week, in temperatures well below zero, towards the end of a 3 month stint I was lured into the nightly Poker game, after 3 nights of thinking I was skilled and gifted in the game, I earned such a Bad-beat that I came to the conclusion, that I would never give away my very hard-earned money in that manner again. However, I gained a major appreciation for those that have mastered the art and science of winning in Poker, and I enjoy watching them play.

As for Gambling in general? I've often used the tired quip "I gamble on myself everyday, so who needs to?" and if you knew the entire story of my life you'd know just how truthful that bad-joke is but the fact of the matter is, that I've never gained enough pleasure from winning to make the uneasiness of the risk seem worthwhile. However, I have a couple of found memories of winning, once at Gulfstream Racetrack on a thoroughbred race, with a pick that Paula (my wife) made, that was chosen after watching the Jockey's preview the horses in the paddock and another of a Roulette betting scheme my sister Shannon and I employed at a gorgeous Casino in Adelaide, South Australia. In both cases the victory was sweet, like being a rock-star after the encore of a sold-out show.

The Casino's themselves though, now there's something I can honestly say I enjoy. I've been to hundreds, all over the world, on cruise ships and Islands, in deserts and in cities. My wife loves Las Vegas more than I do and we count the days until our next visit, plus we always check out new Casinos whenever we travel to new places. Something about the atmosphere in these glorified gambling dens is infectious. The people watching hardly gets better than when it's related to winning or losing money, it's like the observation of human nature at it's core.

As a web developer nothing could be as exciting, than to design and program places on-line where people from anywhere could meet and play with other people from all parts of the world, over a game of cards, or around a gaming table. The idea of integrating the excitement and entertainment of Casino Gambling into a virtual reality situation, is an extremely compelling challenge.

To create a successful Gaming company is my objective as a Cyber Estate Developer. This is what sometimes gives me my "Conflict of Conscience" because I ask myself; what impact my success could have on the planet? will my career path help or hurt more people? is this the right choice for me? The answer; my cards have been played and I'm all-in. There's no turning back from what's been put in motion, so it'll be up to me to make good on my own promise, to be an Internet evangelist and share the great vocation of web development and to teach the computer language of HTML to as many young people as I can.

All bets are on!
By that I mean thoughts and ideas are arriving from seemingly no-where then bouncing around, sometimes causing other ideas to emerge, sometimes I become conscious of these thoughts but for the most part my mind runs amok like a high-powered computer just processing random information from Wikipedia with no particular purpose or reason.
        When I attempt to control my random thinking and concentrate my mind's processing power to solving problems or dictating out-comes of situations I still find that it's difficult with all the noise going on in there. I once read that the average person has 60,000 thoughts per day and I find that easy to imagine, given that most of them are happening without even being recognized, and that multi-tasking is natural, which I've proven to myself by carefully monitoring the mind's thoughts, as this extraordinary book has suggested to do. It's a marvel to become the observer of one's own mind, it's habit forming.

Thanks to the advice in the "The Power of Now" my life has become more meaningful as I learn how to control my mind. Each day I improve and find that I take more pleasure in detail and am more thankful of smaller things. Plus the people in my life are benefiting from the greater attention that I pay towards their cares and concerns, or just to their presence in my energy field. I'm less distracted and more aware of things going on around me.

The very act of writing in my journal, from which I'm writing these words, is a practice in quietening my mind, in an attempt to become more present in the moment and be here now.

I highly recommend - The Power of Now.
The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

An interesting name for a story, as it compels the reader to read more and begs the question; end of what? I wish it were the end of the war or anything more than just the end of August, alas there's more; I've reached the end of my silence not the end of reason and decided to commence publishing articles again. Back in June when I stopped writing for the Silicon Palms Blog I made a decision that I'd wait until I found some clarity about my business before I started publishing again. See, I was conflicted by the blur of the lines between my life and my career and what was the meaning of either.

A smart person once said "clarity will come to you but you can't go to clarity", well that's a profound truth, however you can seek clarity and that's exactly what I did, from Montreal to Vancouver, then from Los Angeles to Miami and twice up to South Carolina I was in hot pursuit of clarity. Over 2 months later I arrived back in Brazil with new resolve, new computers, new investors, new projects, new money and new ideas but no clarity.

Then one day I awoke with a song in my head and an idea in my mind. I sprang out of bed with new found enthusiasm, the end was in sight, the end of uncertainty. All this time I'd been seeking clarity when I knew it would come to me. The time had come to take action and begin publishing once again. All the information was in front of me, the ideas were clear and simple, all I had to do was get organized again, get my groove on once again and get back to publishing web pages and sharing ideas.

The end of self-doubt had arrived. Whether or not what I was planning to write had any importance or significance to the outside world was not important. My mission is not to win a Pulitzer Prize but to improve my writing, while at the same time sharing my adventures and describing my journey as an Internet entrepreneur on the world wide web.

My life in Brazil is fascinating, my travels around the world are amazing, the people I meet along the way often bizarre but rarely boring, so my mission is to make the world a better place by showing and telling anyone who cares to read, either now or in the future, that you can manifest your own destiny if you put your mind to it.

A few weeks ago I was attending the Casino Affiliate Programs annual conference and expo in Amsterdam, where I met with industry experts and learned inside information about affiliate marketing and obtained more insight into the future of online gambling. My main project in this industry, WinningStreak has now been successfully rebuilt into an Affiliate Network, software and systems have been installed to serve, track, and report on banner advertising across the web. An Affiliate Marketing system is now ready on the new winning streak server located in Frankfurt Germany, the Blog has been rebuilt and the site transformed to become a bleeding-edge marketing system for online gaming companies.

In a few days I'll be traveling to Montreal to attend the biggest of the industry events called GIGSE (Global Interactive Gaming Summit and Expo) where I have several important meetings set to negotiate contracts for the new Network. After Montreal I'll be traveling to Vancouver and then to visit my family for a few days before returning to Vancouver for more meetings, then on to Los Angeles to iron-out arrangements for the upcoming Loyalty Program and debit card to be implemented on another new project called the RevPay Card - (payment solution for affiliates).

My North American journey ends in South Florida where I'll be attending the Strategic Profit System seminar on July 14/15. Then I'll be returning to Brazil to begin expanding my infrastructure, renting an office, hiring people and cranking up the business.

Strategic Profits Coaching Program

Rich Schefren was introduced to me by Mike Filsaime in an email just prior to the release of the Internet Business Manifesto. As a self professed information junky, with a penchant for self improvement, this document truly struck a chord with me. I keep a categorized folder just for eBooks and usually open new ones to make sure they're scanned for viruses and ready to read, then come back later in the day to check-out what I've downloaded to read.

Acrobat is truly a "killer ap", especially since it's so dominant to have become the "standard" but personally speaking because it enables me to consume information at a high rate of speed. I use a 21 inch monitor, open the PDF to full-page width and breeze through pages using the scrolling and paging buttons. Usually I fly through information but this time something was different, something caught my eye and engaged my sense of curiosity. My attention was captured and I began reading every word of the Manifesto the very first morning, then I became completely immersed in the content, recognizing immediately the value of the information.

The first dose of reality injected into my conscience by Rich's words were received as though they were written directly to me, by someone who knew what I was going through. Like he knew I had deeply-rooted dream to build an Internet Business. That first morning I was relishing every thought imparted on me but wasn't able to finish reading the entire document due to scheduled conference calls and the pull to get me back to my own fledgling business. Later that same day I did something uncommon: I printed sections of the Manifesto, in the following days I printed more until I had a hard-copy of the entire document. Then I read these pages again during a long flight back to Miami from Brazil and shared this printed version with a member of my inner circle, as well as sending the electronic version to my closest associates.

From the first day I learned about Rich I was a follower, which is also uncommon for me but I'm very familiar with Agora Publishing to whom Rich is an Internet Marketing Consultant. I've been reading Agora Newsletters (Sovereign Society, International Living and others) for many years, so this enforced my trust in his experience and increased my need to know more about where he was going with all this free-knowledge.

Mike Filsaime now had more credibility with me and I started paying more attention to what he was doing and saying, plus took a second look at his products and services and also checked out a couple of other marketers that they recommended, attended a webinar with Rich and Jim Edwards, as well as watching and listening to other much-hyped marketing productions but everything seemed weak and watered down compared to the taste I had of the Internet Business Manifesto. However, I highly recommend reading the "Death of Internet Marketing" by Mike and joining "Simple Ology" by Mark Joyner. Still, nothing resonates for me, with the same clarity of purpose, as the USP (unique selling proposition) from strategic profits.

Then came Rich's turbo-hyped, major-failure launch of the second coaching program. I think it was in October of 2006 but I can't even exactly remember and I'm sure Rich would rather forget as well. Plus the odd communication on his Blog at that time which referred to some minor discord with Agora Execs. I found the language from the promotion to be a little insulting, almost threatening that this was the last chance and without joining my failure would be imminent because I would be left behind some huge quantum leap. Everyday I checked Rich's Blog and there were more and more negative comments from other disgruntled followers. However, it was never published and made clear exactly had happened but it became obvious that the campaign had failed. For me, this only attracted me more to watch how he would recover and what he'd say about the debacle. In my opinion recovery from failure is the surest sign of a true champion, since resilience and persistence are 2 key traits to success.

When the news hit that a 3rd and final coaching program would be presented personally by Rich, I had a feeling that this was my chance to take action and get in the program, where I could enlist or at least leverage some of Rich's knowledge and expertise and have a chance to meet his Network. During the ensuing days I made a point of paying attention to the launch information and was registered as 211 of 1,500 in the front-of-the-line passes to evaluate the new program. So when I received the link to the program detail page, with the "order now" buttons I pulled the triger within minutes and guaranteed myself a position. I knew from quickly reading what was included in the program that I would benefit and also I knew from seeing the new price point that this would be money well spent for me - I couldn't possibly go wrong.

To hire a business growth coach at Rich's level and be apart of his Network was amongst the greatest opportunities ever offered to me. I was born an entrepreneur and my entire adult life have always wanted to build a successful Internet Company but was acutely aware that I lacked the knowledge and clarity to achieve my dreams. Now I have no more excuses.

After my first week as a client of Rich's I knew that I had made a good decision to enroll in this program. During our first Q&A call, which was quite valuable unto itself, a caller asked Rich: In his opinion what was the most important new thing or technical advancement he'd seen over the past few years. (I think he was expecting the Social Networks or the convergence of Video via YouTube etc...). Rich Schefren answered something to this effect;
... not to sound arrogant or be a braggart but after 2 years in preparation of Strategic Profits for the release of the "Internet Business Manifesto" that this was the biggest single advancement on the web. He backed this up by citing the record number of downloads, as well as the fact that his videos are the highest rated business videos on YouTube and that his site has over 2,000 incoming links in a very short time, not to mention the record amounts of money that he's made.

I concur that the Internet Business Manifesto is the most significant single event to happen on the web in last several years. Other things, like Blogs have been around and growing for years - I had one in 2000, Social Media is as old as Yahoo, just that it's evolved. Even video has been around for years but is now coming of age. However, consider the ideology of Mike Filsaime's concept of Butterfly Marketing, comparing the age-old notion than a butterfly flapping it's wings in South America could cause a tornado in Kansas (or something like that), the basic premise being that all things are interrelated and little things combined and over time cause bigger things to happen. With all that being said, imagine that Rich Schefren has caused an 8.0 quake on the sea bed under the ocean, in the beginning of which 250,000 people were aware (they downloaded the Manifesto). This is like the first ripples of waves hitting the continents of the globe. We all know what follows, but in this case it's not just one Tsunami it's a constant barrage of monster waves, spreading out in all directions, touching all people in every part of the world but the major difference is that no harm will be caused but instead good fortune, better products of all sorts and the advancement of the information age to all corners of the earth.

High tide floats all boats, to use another cliche that fits with waves and Tsunamis, I can tell you that even in 3rd world countries like where I live in Brazil new jobs will happen and knowledge will transfer, thereby bridging the information divide. Money will be generated from thin-air, wealth accumulated and distributed where there was previously none and all the while the damage to the environment is nothing more than the minds burning the midnight oil, plus that which is caused by whirring hard-drives and electric lights to help the wave riders map-out and share ideas.

In all the years I've been downloading eBooks and buying software and e-learning courses the Strategic Profits business growth system was the first time I was ever convinced that the actual delivered product exceeded the hype I was pitched in the marketing materials, which coercing me to make the purchase. If you're a person with a dream of having your own Internet Company then I highly recommend that you take action and get involved in Strategic Profits, Business Growth System.

Metrics refers to the standard of measurement and when relating to website visitor traffic there are 3 basic standards which include; hits, page views and user sessions. In the early day everyone used the "hit's" measurement since it will generally be the largest of the 3 and often sounds the best. However, a single user can create a dozen or more hits from a single page view, then banner and text link ads refer to "impressions", sound confusing?

Without a means of measuring results there's no clear way to know if your web development work or Blog writing is effective or your ideas are being shared. Most websites are designed with a commercial purpose so it's even more important to know if the work is paying off.

Blogs have arisen as a way for people to share thoughts and ideas that are mostly less commercial in nature, still both commercial sites and personal blog owners would benefit from good metrics. It's important to know how many people are browsing or reading your web pages, what pages they're attracted to, where they're coming from and how long they stayed?

A person could devote a full-time career to understanding website metrics and truthfully many have but for most people they just want the quick answer to "how to measure site traffic", so I'll get right to the point. Check out www.google.com/analytics and apply for a free account. It's easy to use and very thorough. Google even have an online tutorial and tons of resources on how to get set-up and then how to increase your web site traffic.

Of course there are many other resources on the Net for learning about website metrics and lot's of software and tools available but like so many things; the place to start is Google.

Newsflash

This news article was just released.

ComScore adds `visits' to site measures

NEW YORK - The online measurement service comScore Media Metrix has come up with a new way of measuring Web traffic as new technologies increasingly make one of the current industry yardsticks less meaningful.

ComScore said Wednesday it is now reporting on site "visits" — defined as the number of times a person returns to a site with a break of at least a half-hour.

Currently, sites and advertisers often use page views, a figure that reflects the number of Web pages a visitor pulls from a site.

However, many sites are increasingly using a software trick called Ajax to improve the user experience. It allows sites to update data automatically and continually, without users needing to pull up new pages. Page views decline as a result.

Read the entire articlce from Yahoo News.

####

So there you have it, the Internet never stops evolving and the "need to know the audience" is an ever increasing demand, as mainstream media and advertising dollars pour into the web, which consequently causes the metrics evaluation systems to become more accurate, while the technology for content distribution morphs into newer vehicles for reaching the audience. This is why I've always said that website marketing is very scientific and that I'm an Internet Scientist.

In the book by Carlos Castanda about the further teachings of don Juan, a Mexican Nagual or Sorcerer who is teaching the ancient art of sorcery as passed down for thousands of years from teacher to student. The author shares the teachings of don Juan most of which are nothing more than complex and often confusing lessons of life.

Interestingly the writings/teachings of Carlos Castenda are mentioned by Robert Anton Wilson in his famous book "Prometheus Rising", which he describes as an "owner's manual for the human brain". The notations about don Juan make reference to seeing reality in different a way, which is what don Juan's sorcery lessons are all about, seeing different realities, called the Mastery of Awareness.

There is great knowledge hidden in both these obscure books (The Power of Silence and Prometheus Rising). In today's world there's a huge movement towards self-improvement and the big buzz of the moment is the "The Secret" but these things have been discussed and written about for a long time, one of the first was "Think and Grow Rich" by W. Clement Stone which is more practical and easy to understand sort of book compared to the esoteric Carlos Castaneda books or Robert Anton Wilson.

I'm making mention of the Carlos Castaneda books about the teachings of don Juan because they have a much different way of explaining the methods for better controlling the way you think for the purpose of achieving an accelerated return of more satisfying results in life. In other words; how to become successful.

The 3 basic aspects of sorcery according to don Juan are as follows:
* Mastery of Awareness
* The Art of Stalking
* Mastery of Intent

Sounds a little wacky doesn't it? but change the meanings a little and the understanding could be about how to achieve the results in life that you desire. First you need to have an idea of what it is in life that you wish to achieve ie. a plan or a dream, then become aware of all the pertinent facts that relate to your plan. Next learn about all the ways other people have achieved the outcome you wish for yourself and finally put into place an active strategy to achieve your desired outcome.

The stories of don Juan are just examples of how a person perceives situations and how they react to them. These stories could be replaced by modern day incidents and still tell the same tale. The moral is that we each have the ability to change the way we see things around us, or happening to us and then adjust the way we respond to them. Also, that It's very important to live with intent and make decisions and take actions that serve to fulfill these intentions.

We watch the Carnival on TV and follow the scoring and commentary like it were big league sports, the entire country talks about the competition and each day there are highlights on TV. The dancing keeps on going each night until Fat Tuesday (today). Then tomorrow the judges scores will be revealed to the huge and very anxious crowds, as they wait with their 4,000+ team members to know if they won. The winning team dances once more, down the 1 hour long Sambadrome to the roaring crowds in Rio de Janeiro.

Paula and I love to watch the proceedings from the comfort of our home. Nearly every channel has coverage of the Rio Carnaval, each with a different spin on the proceedings, some with reported coverage of the Carnivals taking place in other parts of Brazil such as Bahia, the events in Bahia are as old as in Rio, and almost as popular, also Sao Paulo celebrates 10 years of the hosting it's own Carnival

The biggest dance schools in Rio de Janeiro have long traditions of organizing incredible performances, each of which lasts 1 hour and syncronize as many as 4,000 costumed dancers separated by as many as 8 huge floats, which can have 30 dancers on each. The schools have a theme and a newly written song to interpret thier theme. The main component of the presentation is the big battery of drummers that retain the fast pace BPM (beats per minute) which is often measured on the TV coverage to provide statistics. The presentation is divided into Ala's, like scenes in a play, each has unique costume to illustrate another aspect of the theme, there may be 40 Ala's to the presentation all choreographed. Some of the costumes are very elaborate but made of light weight plastics and colorful cloth, along with the dancers there are coaches who help to keep the timing and organization because a school is penalized if they're 1 minute longer than an hour completing thier parade of the SambaDrome.

The most important component of each Samba school's presentation is the beautiful dancing women. In front of each is the Porta Bandiera escorted by the best costimed man, as she carries the flag for the schools and wears a mask and the most elaborate gown or dress like a Princess, they twirl and spin, showing off the flag and introducing the dancers. Somewhere in the middle of the parade will be the main float atop of which will be the Queen of the Samba School, often a celebrity or famous model/dancer and always nearly naked and dancing Samba as fast and as well as it can be danced. It's a great honor of Brazil to be the Queen of the Samba School and the winner of the entire Carnival will become famous for lfe as a result.

Paula and I agree that some day we'll join the celebration in Rio, she's been once before but not without having every detail organized and a good vantage point to watch the parade from. There are so many package deals offered to purchase tickets for box seats or general admission in one of the suites that overlook the street inside the SambaDrome. The big issue is getting to and from your apartment or hotel because the city is absolutely mobbed with visitors. You don't want to arrive in Rio and leave anything to chance, it's got to be well planned since the city is over-full.

It's definitely the nicest time to be living in Sao Paulo, since Carnival is celebrated right in the middle of summer and the weather is usually perfect but also because half the populace has left the city for the beaches and the other half that stay's are working for us 8 % that hold all the cards (Visa and Mastercard). The city is empty, you can drive where you want, when you want, only gas, bars, grocery, malls, movies and restaurants are open, everything else is shut down. This is the most official holiday of the entire year, it's mandatory to pay all workers but nobody works. The beaches, thousands of them, are hosting tens of millions of revellers.
