I spent 2 hours in the Brasil Policia Federal office in Sao Paulo to finalize my application for permanent residence status. The process is laughable because of all the bureaucratic obstacles put in your way and the number of times you must pay fees to the government, but for the privilege of living in this great country, these few inconveniences are well worth the hassle, as this place is truly wonderful.
After 12 years living in Miami and traveling through much of USA and Canada, plus tours of Central America and parts of the Caribbean, I’m qualified to make an opinion. Also, in my early 20’s I lived 3 years in Australia and traveled seeking adventure twice through S.E. William John Kane - 1907-2000
William John Kane was born in Dublin's fair city in 1907. He was the offspring of Mary and William George Kane of -2 Chester Road Dublin, Ireland. Willie, as his mother called him, was born in Dublin's Rotunda Hospital on the 21st of July 1907. He was a two-month premature baby and the smallest baby ever born in the Rotunda Hospital. His father, William George Kane, was not alive at the time of the birth. He died on March 9th1907 at the tender age of 25 years old. Apparently, after playing soccer one cold and rainy day he developed a cold which progressed into pneumonia and he died four months before the birth of his wee baby.

Ever since I've been using Movable Type (MT) I've never taken the time to write a recommendation or review. Perhaps I was too busy using their awesome software, to write about how great I think it is? Whatever the reason, the matter is being addressed right now.

Typical for me that I'd procrastinate in writing something for the new category "body", as it seems like it's the last thing that get's my attention, despite firm resolve to be more active, and for that matter, proactive, in improving my health.
It's so easy to blame it on all the hours I spend hunkered over my computer, working on projects and trying to make more money (never enough), but oddly, I really enjoy all forms of exercise, especially swimming but even running, which I do manage to accomplish at least 4 times per week.
Living in Brasil I'm constantly reminded of how lucky I am, to have good health, great family, an education, and the means to provide an income for myself and family. Life is sweet! I enjoy living in South America, for all it's bad points I'm able to find enough good to make up for it.
Yesterday, I saw a young boy asleep on the sidewalk in a very busy neighborhood, he was melting in the hot sun, barefoot and totally filthy stinking. I was wondering what sort of depravity he was involved in the previous night, to be able to sleep, not only in the bright, hot, mid-day sun, but also with all the commotion going on, as he was only a couple meters from a busy street corner.
My sister Shelley and I have always been close friends, and living here in Brasil I think about her often and miss hanging-out with her. Now the baby she's carrying in the photo, has turned out to be a great little boy, my nephew Jacob. A couple of days ago I received pictures from Canada of the Thanksgiving Party at my Dad's house, and Shelley was smiling, with her son Jacob, now about 7 years old. That means the photo was taken in about 1998.

Every Sunday night at midnight the Silicon Palms server, home to a dozen active websites, automatically performs a analysis of the access logs using a software called Urchin 5, to generate very thorough and extremely accurate visitor reports. Urchin 5 is the best in my opinion, and I've tried many other similar software, because the reports are generated from the Log files and not from a Java script or some other data base tracking system, which often rely on cookies or small pieces of code imbedded in the pages.
Last week CommodityTrader.com led the pack with 14,766 unique user sessions, followed closely by OffshoreNet.com with 14,079, making up 27% and 26% of the overall web server traffic. WinningStreak.com was a ways back with 6,181. An interesting note is that visitors remain the longest on CommodityTrader.com, sometimes an average of 8 minutes, and read an average of 3 pages.
