General Info

BlueTranquility was last revised September 28, 2004 to correct a bad link and make minor refinements in the stylesheet, along with a minor bug in the temporary span properties in place of the 468x60 ad banner area and typos in general that were attended to during the previous revision. There is also a 3-column version of this template which you can view/download from my information page using the Site Design link on the left (or there will be soon if you are reading this close to the revision date just mentioned).

BlueTranquility is best viewed at full-screen using a resolution of 1024x768 or higher, but every section of the template will intelligently word-wrap as needed so it is viewable on any resolution. I tested this template on Firefox 0.9.2, Internet Explorer 6 SP-2, Mozilla 1.0, Netscape 7.1, Opera 7.53 and Safari 1.0, and it looked virtually identical on all these browsers, with only one issue pertaining to Internet Explorer (see the next section below).

Relevant Notes

I've found that even IE 6 SP-2 has an issue I like to call the text stairstep bug (other web design templates that use CSS on OSWD are also affected by this so it is an issue with the browser and not with this template). You may notice on pages where the content area is longer than the sidebar on the left that a weird stair-step effect on the left side of the text in the content area occurs, starting just below where the sidebar ends. This issue is barely noticable and hopefully it will be corrected in the next version of IE. None of the other browsers I've tested this template with are affected by this issue.

Requests

If you know how to correct the issue pertaining to Internet Explorer mentioned above, or if you know of a workaround for this issue that does not rely on tables, then please email me so I can update BlueTranquility and my personal website accordingly (I will give you credit on both). Also feel free to use this template (or any template I've made for that matter) as a building block for creating other, better web design templates which you can submit yourself to OSWD.
